Wealth Building Videos

I went online to find out if Obama’s views are Socialistic. I pulled this from Wikipedia, which is a reference source:

Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism by nature concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital, and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly

Obama stated that he is going to tax anyone making over 0,000 and GIVE this to the lower class. Isn’t this the same as the above definition???

Absolutely. But Obama supporters all sit here and say "I wouldn’t mind paying more to help someone else out". Just wait till that hits their paycheck and they start complaining about how they bring home less money.

Isn’t the US based on an egalitarian society?

If he is so what? It’s very different to communism and CLEARLY more in keeping withn the declaration of independence.

  9. jesse c Says:

Yes, but don’t tell the democrats that, they will get very defensive and probably call you names.

  10. "G" Says:

Did Wikipedia REALLY say "Socialism is where you evenly distribute income evenly"? They said "evenly" twice in the same definition? Somebody needs to slap Wikipedia around.

  11. ocservice52 Says:

This is kind of old news except for people on the left who are in denial about themselves.

I bet they are in shock and are thinking "What? I an socialist! Thats silly. You are just some right wing nazi racist greedy…<insert infantile rant here> republican"

  12. Improper Bostonian Says:

Well then McCain must be a socialist too.
Are you so obsessed with Obama that you aren’t paying attention to your own candidate? Have you read HIS economic plan?
I hate when people don’t understand the words they toss around.

  13. E=MC2 Says:

You’re right. The trouble is that we have free enterprise, capitalist representative democracy that is in danger of falling to it if we don;t wake up. When the thirteen colonies were still a part of England, Professor Alexander Tyler wrote about the fall of the Athenian republic over two thousand years previous to that time:

    Check out the this quote:
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage.

    – Wikipedia is where I get all of my political information too - Hmmm maybe not. Over/under for this question to be deleted - 20 minutes.

  15. Liza Says:

Yes, you’re right it sure seems that way. He wants to take money away from the higher class and distribute it to the lower class in order to "even things out" which like you said, fits the description.

  16. Jerome C Says:

Hes a socialist big time and his biggest supporters knows this about him and love him even more for it .

  17. Control Freak Says:

yeah.and?………..your beloved republican party has just given 700 billion to bail out the banks…now that IS socialism

  18. Pragmatist Says:

Yes. It’s also called redistrubution of wealth. But since there isn’t much wealth after the economic crisis and major recession to follow Obama isn’t going to have much to take away from the rich which will mean he’ll have to lower that $250,000 number.

  19. B.K.H.S. Says:

Not the same. People making a larger sum of money have a moral obligation of those less fortunate then them. If you increase the taxes on the rich, its not going to make them middle class- and if you decrease taxes on the middle class, it won’t make you rich.

  21. Loxho B Says:

i’ve always felt that the term "socialist" is kicked around negatively to dredge up the horrors of the nazi party. Just ask yourself is the status quo worthy of a successor.

  22. happy to be alive Says:

he did not say that..he is saying that people who make that amount can afford to pay taxes at a higher level it is like 3% that is not at all that much & these people unfairly make more money then people who make less…Wikipedia.com can be changed by anyone so go to a dictionary to have something defined…this guy Joe the plumber is not even ever going to make that money, like many other people who think they are going to make this much..this is just insanity for people who live in a country that is sinking to vote for a man who will sink it faster with not hope of saving it.

  23. mom Says:

I don’t think anyone is trying to evenly distribute income. They are only trying to make it possible for people to be able to eat, live and see a Dr. if they need to. In the richest country in the world, that should not be hard to do. Trying to say Democrats are for socialism is like Chicken Little yelling ‘The sky is falling’. If we can build bridges to nowhere, send people into outer space, study the sweat of the aborigines,
(all from the taxes we all pay to upkeep our society),
surely we can feed the children of our own country without crying over it.

E=MC2: I don’t know of anybody who can vote public money for themselves other than our own little House and Senate, do you?

  24. What Did Nietzsche Teach Ya Says:

You’re wrong. Wikipedia says that socialists favor a "more equal" distribution, not an even distribution. Obama does favor a more equal distribution.

  25. BiH Says:

Yes it is, but why do you consider Socialism so bad? Countries like Germany and England are both Socialist, and they’re doing just fine. Capitalism is an unequal society where the rich control most of everything. I’m not saying that we should all be equal when it comes to money, because I really hope to one day be successful and rich, but making it a little more equal isn’t bad. It’s not like Socialism is like Communism; Communism isn’t really that bad on paper, but usually there is a person who has too much power and they become dictator, and everyone is totally equal in terms of wealth so its not that great. In Socialism health care is free, in our Democracy/Capitalism health care is not free, and its really expensive; unreasonably expensive. I don’t think Obama is going to make this country Socialist so don’t worry, but it’s not like Socialism is bad.

  26. floppy Says:

Let me first say, the people that will benefit from his tax hike do not, I stress, do not pay taxes anyway. What the majority of the people do not understand is, the small business owner files his business and personal taxes on the same return. I know, I am a small business owner. So, everyone suffers, except those who do not pay anything anyway. Yes, it is socialism.

  27. comeonpeople! Says:

I think it would be cool if we could all take turns living in the white house. Seriously though there are parts of USA that is already there. He wants your guns next. These bankers that didn’t even want the money from the government was told they were going to take it and like it basically. That’s how the government gets it’s say in how the bank will run business. That would be like you owning a company and me coming in and saying hey I want 51% of this company and you tell me you don’t need a partner. I’m bigger than you and you have no choice. Now this is what you are going to do and how much you will charge and who you will sell to. Yep that’s already happened. It’s totally unconstitutional. Government has no right to do that but they did it anyway. and people don’t even see it. Now I’m not saying it’s Obama’s fault. He’s not even in office but from everything I have see about him he will promote the idea.
